Best Ever?
I keep reading on the forum that the S202 is considered the holly grail by some members. But what about the S203 & S204? Are they not as good or even better? Surely later technology would improve on the S202?
Sorry if it's been done before, but not been on here for a while.

based purely on the looks and feel i had about the cars close up the s202 was my favourite.
the s203 did nothing for me and just reminded me of a wrx, the s204 was nice but nothing special other than the amazing seats.
obviously i know the components they are built with would probably make them a great drive.

I always said I'd love a car that steered like my Clio Cup and went like an Impreza. I've got an S202 and it's the closest thing to it. It's not as quick as my Cosworth, and not as dynamically brilliant as a Spec C hatch but it's more fun to drive than either.
I disagree, with respect, with the comment above about dccd. It's not important for the majority of the time. Not for me anyway, when I'm belting down a country lane listening to the Bee Gees.
The beauty of the S202 is that it's a raw car like the classics that went before it, but has the planted feel and dynamic ability of a car of the early 21st century.
It's got a fantastic sounding engine and a fast spooling turbo, and loves to be revved. Even the OEM map had audibly loud pops and bangs to put a smile on your face.
The steering is sharp and beautifully weighted - it is much better than any UK newage car I've driven, and vastly superior to that of the hawk and hatch.
The S202 has quite a tail happy setup and being as light as it is, has a really zippy feel to it that some of the later and latest cars just don't have.
People can bang on about twinscroll engines, dccd and widetracks but for me the S202 is the ultimate incarnation of the Impreza. It's loaded with character, it's a proper driver's car and easily the one that has made me smile most.

The only site that it comes up as being a 2 door special edition RA is that Catherine'n'Ken site, the site all those facebook groups live by.
There is no mention of it here... http://www.sti.jp/product/impreza/list.html
A few years ago a guy on the RA Forum living in Japan investigated the car via sources at Subaru....It was confirmed there is no such car.
