Purchased my first Subaru
Good Evening!
Just got back from the 150 mile drive home in my new 2005 Blob WRX STI. Had a grin on my face almost the whole way!
I'd like to thank you all for your advice on a thread i started earlier this week, it really encouraged me to take the plunge!
Purchased from Hurst Cars (Saw a fair few good things about them on here). Max has just flown to Japan so was one of Mo's first customers! On the phone the previous day i must say Max was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the car in hand.
It's got a huge folder of service history and 84k on the clock. Currently running 330hp - Remap/Exhaust. One thing that wasn't listed in the ad but was obvious on the test drive was that the car has been fitted with a dump valve (HKS). I called insurance regarding this and it didn't change my premium and in all honesty got a little giggly so decided to continue.
Pictures to come tomorrow after it gets a good polish but thank you all for your advice. No doubt I'll continue requiring it and i can't wait to get further involved in the Scooby community!

Yeah, from other reading i've been led to believe some widetracks the dccd was given as an option (Cyprus & Malta). Some also saying it was an option from Dealerships but i'm not sure regarding this. There's a few other threads on the matter

Mate, I had a Maltese import Widetrack for 3 years and it never missed a beat, till I sold it six months ago. I seriously doubt you would notice much difference between the DCCD with the Helical Diff and the Suretrac diff on yours.

Are there driving differences between a DCCD and non DCCD car? Yes, you have a few more options on a DCCD car, it is more adjustable than a non DCCD car and can make you feel a little un nerved to start with when pushing into corners because its always adjusting, oh and you can use the hand brake with one, you cant with the non dccd car.
If you dont have it then you wont miss it, if you have it then go to a car that doesnt, you will miss it.

It was an option in Europe but Subaru UK did it as a standard feature on the UK cars and added the 1k to the price to boot.
