STILL NOT SURE IF ITS A MIRACLE OR JUST LUCKY AFTER CASTLE COMBE SATURDAY!,video link
Morning all.
A few people may know my car from time attack last year and endless track antics with it etc, plus the diy rotated gt30 turbo conversion still on a standard engine etc.
Long of the short of my car, I bought it 4 years ago on 77k @ 265hp. It's now on 100k running circa 450horse.
This time last years before the ring trip, spring action day, japfest, trax, time attack at brands etc I had it mapped by Martyn j at Enginetuner running 440@ 1.5 bar.
Suspect low comptesison at This point and found out 100psi on each cylinder.
A year gone on and all events completed once more and a few more thousand track miles on the car. At this point i thought it would be a good idea to try get it over 500horse a month back ready for spring action day at castle combe as I'm on the MCR stand representing mcr on track .
Went for mapping again for the 7th time and it's slowly losing even more compression, @1.5 bar it's now making 400 so lost 40 horse but never mind to make up for it running it @ 1.8 bar.
Saturday came up castle combe at spring action day and I was kind of guesisng on track it's finally going to kill it and I'll be trailoring it home and ready to drop my other engine in.
Now for the interesting part.
9am I'm straight out on track giving it hell for leather, sat on the redline now that Martyn raised to 7800 and it's still going perfect.
9 sessions out all day and 5pm comes and I'm the last man standing on track still with my tired engine running 1.8 bar.
Tally of the day was 150.7 miles clocked up at castle combe that day flat out, to the sum of 120 litres of fuel and I still managed to drive it home!.
All I can say is what a testiment to SUABRU for the 2.0 Sti engine keeping on delivering at that tired point in its life and still going and an even bigger thanks to Martyn jeffery @ enginetuner as with out him and having a great understanding of me and how hard the car gets used it would not stay together.
Here is a video of me and mike chalks track MCR Evo running 600horse having a bit of cat and mouse round the track.
You can appreciate the Subaru holds its own well even with best part of 200 horse difference.
thanks for looking peeps.
Few pics of the car too
Me and my mate rupz having a play too

100k, that's good going and offers confidence to us all I guess!
When will you put the new motor in, surely you're not just waiting for this to let go if you don't mind me asking what FMIC are you running there?
Best of luck in the TA

It's a forged bottom that I already have, enginetuner are over hauling the heads and soon as there back to me I'll build the engine up with new arp studs, head gaskets, oil/water pump etc etc and then Get it running 2 bar of boost and see 500.
Cheers
