Default Dial/clock swap

Hi all,

back some more valuable expertise

i am about to have my dials swapped in my 2004 blob to a 2005 blob dial - red dial with sweep.

is there anything I need to be aware of?

also where can i get the mileage adjusted on the new dial to match my actual mileage in sheffield or surrounding areas.

thanks all

There is a few threads in here about swapping them over. I'm in the same boat I've got an early blob and have got a hawk cluster to fit. Check out some of threads on here as it's not a straight forward swap.

You`ve got about 5 or 6 screws to take out in total, 2 in the plastic surround at the top and 3 or 4 holding the clocks in, Then just undo the 3 connector blocks out of the clocks themselves, then plug back in on the new ones, Should take no more than 5-10 mins. Depending on your car and the clocks you may get a couple of lights stay on the, Rear diff temp and i forget the other, Everything will work as normal though, Its a doddle of a job, The mileage is stored in an EEPROM chip in the back of the clocks, You can get this re-programmed.

You will need to trim a small part off one of the three connector blocks to get it to fit and u will also need to snip one of the wires because you will have a constant buzzer sounding if u dont. The abs, handbrake and rear diff temp lights will be permanently lit and need to have the circuits reversed. There is a full write up on nasoc.

Sorry cant help with anybody local to you who can do the milage adjustment. You may have to send them off to be done as they are not as simple as some others are to do.

I'll get you a number for a kid who clocks them mobile.....I mean re adjusts
I know he does Doncaster/gainsbrough and such areas , so Sheffield shouldn't be a problem.
Iirc he used to charge £50/60 but could be wrong.
I'm over that way tomorrow and Monday so I'll try and remember
