MY03 wish list
#1
So we hear about all the front end changes to the MY03 - but apart from being better looking than the FUGLY what other improvements would we like to see?
I for one would want more toys - even bl**dy Focus's and the like get auto dipping mirrors, proper climate, computer and the like - all fripperies but they make you feel like you've spent the money you have! Also need more than 215bhp stock - everyones creeping up to the 200bhp figure now - Scoobs have got to keep the edge over the Civics and Vectras (new GSI has over 200bhp?) - bigger 18" alloys - and better MPG would be a bonus!
As things stand I think the rest of the pack are creeping up with the standard WRX and if they don't address some of the MY02 'probs' next year then I for one will be looking elsewhere for me next mota - new Saab 9-3 Aero/Alfa GTA/Audi A4 3.0 look good - or am I getting old?

Perhaps they should release the WRX wagon that is on sale in Japan, they called it the WRX Type Euro for some reason - Porche assisted in the bodykit design, keeps the standard bugeye bonnet, but has new bumpers, new style headlights and some other bits.. looked kinda evil too!

All these extra bits and bobs would mean the car would cost you more money. This would then put the Scooby in the price range of other high performance cars, which as you say are of similar power.
When you look at what else you could then get for your money, you may well go else were, especially if you have already owned a Scooby.
Prehaps this old girl has nearly reached the end of her life, with only die hard Impreza lover's wanting to buy then.
Who knows????????????.

If I don't buy a WRX it will be for the paintwork quality and the lack of toys, but perhaps different toys to what you state. Sorry, the new one still doesn't have the window buttons illuminated in the dark. I hate fumbling! OK for the driver, all the others are black. Door openers too.
That stereo - more useful if it was a screen? Seems there aren't many dual-DIN replacements around.
Better storage space for bits - doorbins are still awful. If it's supposed to be practical, design the interior better.
Redesign the wagon seats so they fold flat, not angled.
Otherwise, with a PPP, it's still an impressive bit of kit for the price (gutless without though, now I've driven both).

Why bother with uk spec impreza, get your self a jap import. If you have to have climate and all the toys, with high outputs, or you feel the need for something a little more comfortable, go legacy. All the toys, noise and space to boot.

My wish list:
30bhp over the std 01/02 WRX (to about 250bhp)
PPP to do 270bhp
STI to DO 290bhp
STI-PPP to do 330bhp
PLUS - 100 kgs lighter to bring it down to 1285 kgs. Purrfect.
You can keep all the gadgets, except for safety, some radio, and the current climate system.

Maybe the bright button could come back as three way switch. Off/Undercar neons/NOS. Or is this fast and ridiculous . No bright switch on my classic or headlamp washers or side skirts come to think of it .

18's as standard
no ppp 'BULL' just give the power to start with
better interior
split/folding rear seats in 4 door
better spoiler
better sound system
the list could go on and on

...but if the car, as standard, had all the toys, tuning and styling already done, everyone's would be the same and you couldn't take any pleasure from modding your mota.
The only thing that should be fitted as standard are gold rims...that way the likes of Lewis would have to "mod" their car to get rid of em
