Sorry this is posted in Brake section too, but I need a quick answer if poss...

I've just fitted some EBC redstuff pad to the front of my MY99.
Unfortunately the last pad to go on is damaged- theres a big chunk out of the friction material, going about half the way through the pad (yep I'm a pillock for not checking more thoroughly b4).

So I've left if with three new pads and one OEM (with a fair amount of pad material left.

I am waiting to see if I can get just one replacement pad, but

!!!if anyone thinks this is a bad thing to do please let me know and I'll put all the old pads back on.!!!

I don't do high mileages and hope it will not be a problem. Finers crossed I'll get it resolved before doing more than 100 miles.

Thumbs down

Bad idea, possibly different braking on different wheels, may be fine if you are turning right at the time - not if you want to go straight :-(
You will probably only notice this under extreme braking - but it only takes one child to run out in front of you etc etc

I am by no means an expert but with prolonged usage wouldn't this cause warping of the disc, as the different pads will have different frictional properties and will generate and disperse heat at different levels, I would have thought that it needs sorted as soon as is possible(IMHO)
