Tein lowering springs
Looking to lower my 2005 blobeye. Can't find a good shock and spring set up together so was going to get just springs now. Can't afford coilovers and I've heard its pointless unless you buy the best.
What are people views on Tein? 35mm rear and 25mm on front I think.
Thanks

Coilovers are a bit harsh for Britains pot hole ridden roads,Tein or Eibach are a decent choice ...
I prefer the standard ride but I am getting on a bit .....

But are 30mm lowering springs on standard shocks ok? Scoobyworld website says that they are designed for it.
If you know anywhere that does shock and springs together then let me know as I'd prefer to do both as the car is 10 years old now, I'd prefer to renew shocks also but can't find a package together.

Depends what you use the car for and the quality of your roads
If you drive the car in any way hard and your roads are average UK - crap with potholes then you will get crashing as Teins lower the car too much
The handling also gets worse overall. There's quite a few reasons for this, but basically the Impreza doesn't like to be lowered

I don't think there is a difference but perhaps either someone could verify that on here or if you are interested, I could find out for definite.
They came off my car at 20k miles (obviously the springs had covered much less).

Ask if he's got the lowered blob/hawk STI springs available yet.
He designed road suspensions for prodrive.

Ive got Teins s tech springs on my Hawk STI and they are much better than the standard springs, obviously a little harder. I use mine as a daily and find them fine!

More than that and you lower the roll-centre, which results in MORE body-roll when cornering, with resultant loss of grip.
You can get it back, but it costs £££ on suspension mods...and for what?
Mine runs coilovers and various mods like solid droplinks, stiffer REAR arb, poly bushes, anti-lift kit etc, and the late, great Harvey Smith pronounced it "pretty damned good!" Oh...and never forget the PROPER geometry setup from Carnetix.
Forged 2.5 running 400+/400+
Suspension is standard height, on WRX 17" wheels.
