Default Kamikaze Racing

Hi All,
Hope you're all well. Has anyone ever used Kamikaze Racing (Birmingham based - www.kamikaze-racing.co.uk) before? If so what are they like? Do they look after the car well? I'll obviously be waiting there while they carry this out.

Have to get my sixth month oil change done and I'm thinking about going to these guys as they are more local than Zen Performance.

Thanks,
Dibs

They seem to be the mechanic of choice for 80% of SIOC.....

Edit: There's enough spelling mistakes on their website to make me never want them anywhere near my car.

I hear you, which is my dilemma. I live approx 20 minutes from KR and over 90 from ZP. I was thinking for an oil change they would be alright?

Car has only done approx 1k miles since it's last oil change, but would like to get it done sometime in July.

So has anyone here actually used their services? Would like to find someone local for this type of work. Zen for everything else.

How about Thwaites Developments? They're currently moving premises and should be operational next week. They're based approximately 20 miles from me.

If it wasn't just for an oil change, I'd make the trip up to Zen, however they are 75 miles away - all in that would be a 150 mile trip.

Thwaites Developments (TDR) 100% mate.
They do everything you could want, including servicing, mapping, engine builds etc etc.
His mapping and engine build were good enough for this...

Cheaper than most 'specialists' too.

Hi,

I was just wondering why you need to change the oil after 6months/1000miles.
Is it a newly built engine running in?

Cheers

Hi,
No it's not. It's just for piece of mind and good practice. I always use Millers CFS, which is a Ester based oil too It may be overkill, but spending £100 on an oil change pays dividends in the long term.
Thanks,
Dibs

good practise on performance cars, depsite what manufacturers claim oil doesn't last 20k untill it starts to degrade

Just an oil and filter ????

Do it yourself, it'll take you 15 mins. Then keep the receipt and put it in the history file. Most enthusiasts actually prefer to see a folder full of receipts than a few stamps.
You can pick up the oil from opie for £45 delivered and a genuine filter from ICP for a tenner.

Thanks for the heads up. TD have said I can have one if theirs for £13 so that will save the hassle of ordering one. Next time I might have a go myself, but not sure how long I'll be keeping the car as it simply doesn't get used enough. So if anyone is interested in a JDM widetrack let me know. If not hope to actually get to meet some of you if anything ever gets arranged around the Midlands area on a nice sunny day.

Bit late to reply mate. Sorry. Just sold the car last week to a guy from Newcastle. Came down to purchase it from Birmingham. Absolutely mint car, but just didn't get on with it. Was a bit outlandish and literally everyone on the road wanted to either race or stick their bonnets into my boot.
Got full asking for it though, which was good. I'll put some pics up when I get home.
Cheers
