Default Entering the world of Scoobies!

Hi all,

New to the forum and will be getting my first Scooby sometime next week. I'm going for a 2006 Hatchback in Black (Preferably) and seen this one.

Just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers and general opinion of the advert.
Thanks in Advance

Doug

Could hope, but even the standard ones are prone to go, its a bit of a lottery, it could be ok, but there is always that chance.

How about this one, Its a black blobeye wagon, its a £1000 cheaper and it has the better/reliable 2.0 litre engine!!

Thanks for the link man. I got my heart set on the 2006 shape, I just like the front of it more! Ha! Even if it does blow up.
Would buying an extended warranty help cover my as* though if it does go wrong?
I started my investigations into scoobies reading that they were indestructible but now all I'm reading about is horror stories with engines!

Its just the 2.5 engine thats a problem, I know what you mean about the hawkeye front end, looks so much better and aggressive, I loved my black hawkeye, even though I had to constantly clean it every couple of days

Haha! Good shout matey, well, at least you haven't totally talked me out of it. Would you recommend getting an RAC vehicle inspection for further peace of mind? Or would that not pick up on any engine issues?

Not sure, never had the RAC do a inspection!! If you pay them, id hope they would find any potential issue, pretty sure someone on here the otherday said that they where quoted £200-300 for them to come out and inspect, could have been more.

I bought a hawk STi with a un-forged engine, it had 49k miles on when I bought it and I sold it with 61k miles with no problems, maybe I was lucky, I always had in the back of mind if the worse happened I would just have to get the engine forged. But be aware that a engine build could possible cost you anything from £2k for a basic build or anything upto £5-6k using top end parts etc!!
