Armed Forces

Well its usually who's in IT. I can happily claim not to be.
As a different question. Are there any other people on here that were as stupid or astute as me to either have been or still serving in the Armed Forces.
I left 10 years ago, and am not normally a sad b****** and havent attended any reunions, or am a member of the British Legion. Not something I normally own up to. Am I the only one ?

At least I didnt start a thread that no-one replied to. Judging by the replies so far if I'd asked for members of the Golden Rivet Brigade I'd be the only one !!

Cambridge Rd Horfield. Just at the top of the road is a huge wall with masive doors. I was living over the other side of the wall for quite some time. Now living on the outskirts of Bristol.

Dark Muppet reporting for duty Sah!
Actually I wanted to join the airforce, but when I found I had to wear glasses and so probably would'nt be allowed to pilot a plane I kinda gave up. There seemed to me, to be no point being in the airforce if you could'nt be a pilot. BTW I was 14 at the time.

SGT.
18 years (TA) service (still serving) First 16 years been on CVR (T).
Now traned as an instructor on Challenger 2 MBT gunnery simulator equipment.
Mike.
Here's one for Rich S.
A fellow TA soldier got some serious grief from his girlfriend after staying in the bar instead of going home.
A huge argument ensued when he got home, she blew her top and wound him up big style...... the tail end of the conversation went as follows:
Her: "You think more of the TA than you think of me."
Him: "I think more of the F*cking RAF than I think of you!"
LOL

For SimonH and Dave T-S: Fat Albert - Great Plane!! You must be joking! Heap of old c... if you ask me
and Simon, question for you: Why do you always insist on making me sick for 3 hours before lobbing me out only 20 miles from where you started?
Huw
PS. only joking, don't treat this as a challenge

Looks like the IT boys outnumber us military folk in scoobynet land - must be something to do with sitting in front of PCs all day!
Dave T-S, you're right of course. Albert is a truly magnificent flying, er, truck...
HuwWilz - the 3 hr transit to the DZ is to give the crew enough time to eat all the inflight rations. And, "heap of old cr*p"? Well spotted. Good thing about being old and crap (it not me) is that it takes me to nice places and then breaks down...
Kav - you'll no doubt be delighted to hear that the bull5h1t remains at record levels, although we were told this morning by the high paid help that morale was high and that the future was looking rosy. So that's a relief then...

That's the trouble with the Army, they always pick shabby places to visit
Ah, Las Vegas, there about three weeks ago...wouldn't want to live there but it beats a soggy green tent any day of the week
