Have you looked at the 3" cobra track day friendly system? I have it on mine and a decat downpipe and it is a lot quieter than the one previously on that was 2.5". They say there around 92db

A MillTek is very good, not too loud, good on a run and is track friendly. It's 2.75 not 3 inch.

HKS silent hi-power? A bit tricky to track down now....but a very good quality system and sensible noise levels too.

Always thought the sound of the subaru was part of the enjoyment of having one even when it is a bit loud.

Doesn't mean it has to be silly loud though. I'll admit to doing it in the past, but fitting a silly loud exhaust is exactly that, silly. Just makes you look a bit of a plonker and totally anti social IMO.

The thing is, people underestimate how good even a std system sounds. When you drive the car you think it's quiet but if you stand there and let someone drive off in your car, you realise how loud it really is.

Even my wagon (which has a stock system with just a prodrive back box) sounds quite loud when I've listened from a pedestrian point of view.

You might think your blitz or similar minimal silenced exhaust sounds good but in general it just sounds way too loud from a bystanders point of view.

Mate,

I managed to get a turbo back system for just over £250. Pretty mint too, the back box from an RA-R (a mate) and the centre section from a seller on here - post 99.

Keep digging before you fork out heaps.

I'm rather impatient to be fair and I don't think £708 is a terrible price as I did pay £1500 for a full miltek for my old R32 and the company is only 5miles away , but I know what your saying but at the same time they hardly ever come up for sale

Having had both the miltek and the now the track day cobra system (with H&S downpipe), consider 2 things, all in IMHO.

1) Build quality of the miltek is not as great as everyone thinks, cobra on the other hand was superb. (as was the H&S downpipe)
2) Miltek is not as quiet on a modded car with more then standard boost. I regularly hit 99-100 db at many tracks. Also on a long drive it can become very tiring, especially if you have passengers in the back.

But do you own research and go for the system you feel is best.
