Default First Impreza, STI Spec D

On Saturday i picked up my first Impreza, it's a 2006 STI Spec D. After 3 weeks without a car this one came up locally so i decided to go take a look.

Modifications are Speedline wheels, BC Racing Coilovers (height and damping adjustable), downpipe, straight through center section, Cosworth head gaskets, ARP head studs, Exedy clutch and remap.

It's still running the standard backbox so it's not too loud (or too quiet), the coilovers are only set slightly lower than standard and on the soft setting the ride is pretty comfortable.

Only taken a quick phone pic for now

Nice - I've always liked the Spec D - subtle(ish) but quick.

Yaaay a Spec D on here for a change! I love mine. I've always wondered why these aren't a bit more sought after - or at least more talked about.

They only made 300 of these which is one of the most rare models out there.

Nice piece. Probably only around 230 of these now taxed / on the road.

Enjoy.

Welcome to scoobynet fella and that's a very nice clean looking example you have yourself there. The spec D is a great scoob, picked mine up in May and love it and those wheels really suit yours.

Here is mine

A bit of a side question, but do the spec Ds have individual limited edition build numbers?

mine is one of the 28 due to h/g failure AGAIN

next time it's back on the road it will be fully forged with CDB etc
Just saving the pennies at the moment.

They do frighten a lot of 'other' marque owners thinking there up against a WRX I have PPP but I will be getting a proper map after rebuild

Mine is still going strong at 102k miles. Surprising in some ways as it's had a hard life - used to be one of IM's press cars. Google 'Subaru Sti Spec D Top Gear' and the first picture is my car!

I used to have a Spec D. They are quite easy to live with on long journeys due to the nice seats and 2.5 torque.
