Default 2.1 Stroker with MD321H...anyone ran these together?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone had this setup.
From what I have read, and been told, the engine and turbo are a great combination.

if I get this right the MD321H is for 2.0 and 2.1 engines and the MD321T is for 2.35 and 2.5 engines. MD321T can be laggy when used on a 2.0 and 2.1 engine.

Hi there

We've run on our wagon on 2.1L MDX321T and this turbo has been great on 2.1L and I know few guys which are running too MDX321T on their 2.0L

MDX321H should be great turbo on 2.1L and on 2.0L WRX,MDX321T is more suited for 2.0L STI with AVCS or 2.1L where 100cc helps with better spool up,on our spool up has been OK,with better heads I would expect bit better spool up,plus with Harvey Up pipe we would gain on better spool up,really depends as MDX321T is 450bhp and MDX321H is 400bhp and X means is billet there

Here are our results on 2.1L

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura

Hi,

Excellent. Thanks for the replies.
Interesting you said the T was good for 2 and 2.1's.
Everything else I've read says the opposite...although you do mentioned AVCS.
I'm probably going down the STI 5 heads route.

Problem with turbo's is they are massively effected by setups, up pipe, down pipe, what heads the car has, what ecu it's on, exhaust system etc etc can affect big style . Some combo's work some just never perform.

other option is go with the daddy of subaru road car engines, 2.5. built right they are about the best road engine you can get in one

Similar to IT then.
When my engine let go last year I was given the options of:

1. Like for like rebuild
2. 2.0 forged rebuild
3. 2.1 forged rebuild
4. "New" 2.5 custom built 6 month old sprint engine that's done 10 sprint races

I opted for option 3.
Maybe in a year or two or three I may look at a brand new custom engine build...but for now I'm very happy with my 2.1.
My friends keep taking the mick about my spending on the car...yet they spent £7k Fiat 500 + £3k in repairs in last 18 months, £4k Honda Jazz and a £15k 2 yr old MX5,...I think they're wasting their money tbh and I've spent less than my friend with the Fiat 500

I did
It was "new" as in a complete brand new build 3 months earlier. Hardly any miles on it. Only done 10 sprint races.
...although I am well aware of what sprint races do to an engine.

Hi there

I've seen MD321T on 2.1L with STI V6 heads and MD321T has spooled very similar to our 2.1L

Please have look on this thread

https://www.scoobynet.com/905924-my-...e-build-9.html

I've seen few more cars on 2.0L and MD321T has spooled pretty much nicely, but really depends as above the setup, exhaust etc and too on ECU,which you want to use

MD321V will be laggier on 2.0 or 2.1L,on 2.35L or 2.5L this turbo will be awesome and seen that turbo make high 500's on meth

AVCS would only help with spool up turbo and if it comes to which engine is best,I would say 2.35 is best engine what we are run as full boost 2.1bar at 3800RPM on road with GTX30R has been just great,we are wanted to run NOS,but I don't think we are needed to run NOS on that engine at all

2.1L is good too there,I like 2.1L which revs really nicely and 2.5L is lazy engine and tried too de-strokered 2.5 to 2.35L with EJ207 crank and +2mm longer rods and this engine revs really nicely,I think he reved much better than 2.1L

Hope this helps and good luck there

Thanks,Jura

My 2.1 with GTX3576R seems to be doing the business.

Oh how I can't wait for 2.0 BAR
