Newage WRX rear 2 Pots on a RB5? Will it work?
Hi guys,
Was just wondering if this would work and if it's a direct swap, also is it worth it with Brembo or Prodrive alcon's on the front. Are the Brembo STi brakes a direct swap for the RB5 (both front and rear)?
Regards,
Subaru Collector 555.

I think the RB5 (UK spec?) will need mounting brackets for the rear two pot calipers and not forgetting bigger 290mm discs. Unless of course it already has two pot calipers on the rear as standard.
For brembo rears you'll need the same brackets, even larger discs and the oversize handbrake shoe kit.
Front brembos will bolt straight on with the appropriate discs.
I have the complete Brembo setup for my Turbo 2000.

Them's some little discs!
290mm discs, with 190mm handbrake drum.
Rear discs: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Su...2d6eef0&000027
Pads: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Su...06b9733&000036
ETA, discs are priced for one disc, not a pair.
I like the Pagid stuff, the discs aren't oiled like most, they have a coating to make bedding in easier.
Handbrake shoes: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Su...18cc690&000420
I only mention the handbrake shoes, as when I swapped my rear discs at the weekend, one of the shoes fell to bits.

To the OP, Brembos are an awesome upgrade over the standard sliding calipers you'll most likely have. They aren't massively expensive these days either. If you're thinking of buying them, make sure the threads for the mounting bolts are good and that all bleed nipples are free.

How much am I looking to spend on mounting brackets and an oversized handbrake shoe kit? Anyone you would recommend?

Godspeed also do the parts you need, can't comment on them as I have never used them though.

I've got the Godspeed bracket kit, around £40 from memory and the oversized handbrake shoes are about £100.
In fact, I have a spare full set of Brembos I'll be intending to sell in a month or so. Don't worry, I'm a paid up member lol
