It is not released yet, and not road tested by the magazines, but the thought is it will address a lot of the criticisms of the 172 handling and chassis. Imagine if you could get a £2000 discount as well - could be £11000.

Notorious,
That's libellous, that is![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I had a 19 16v who's electrics and interior were shot, but a Clio 1.8 RSI that really was pretty well put together. A mate has it, and it's still going strong...
I'm tempted by one. Cheap as chips, too, compared to running the scoob.

Just had a read and looks very good. Given that you will be offered a list of approved after market stuff to customise the car with that will not affect the warrenty. The blue is also a nice colour.
I wonder if they are planning on running track events etc just for the clio's

Chiark, I have a V reg 1.6Si as a second car, it sucks. Great fun handling, nippy enough etc, but the build quality is shockingly bad, I will never, ever own another Renault. Ever. Unless they Turbo the V6 Clio

Fair enough then Rev
. My 19 was a shed, I loved the N reg'd RSI, my wife likes her X reg Clio...
...but have to agree, turbo the V6 and I'll be there like a shot, no "maybe I'd have one"

Not really Chris it is too slow. But the bang for the buck is impressive. Maybe as a car for the wife. Trouble is the Scooby is too conspicuous to go into dark estates at 3am so I end up using her car (I am not a pimp or a drug dealer before anyone asks, just a GP). But I don't think I'll do much more night work from now on, but on the other hand the Scooby is still conspicuous in the day time in some areas I will have to work as a locum GP.

chiark I had a Clio 1.8 RSi as a company car a few years back. Not a bad little motor, a good warm hatch that would keep up with most GTis with great handling and steering.
Build seemed OK until it had covered 30k miles, then the odd squeak and rattle started to appear. Couldn't find any Brie, although there were traces of Camembert in the leccy sunroof.
