Daughter locked in stationary 05 wagon as alarm sounds
For some time we have felt our wagon has been unlocking itself, but been unable to confirm this as both of us use it, and so blame each other for not locking it. My wife has previously said that she has heard it unlock on the drive when she did not have the keys on her, but I guess I didn't really believe her !
So this morning, my 15 year old daughter was waiting in the unlocked car, whilst my wife was at least 60m away, and the car locked itself, and then the alarm went off as she moved. Before my wife had left the car, she had locked it out of habit, realised daughter was in there, and unlocked it for her. She walked off to shops, and 3 minutes later the locks clunked shut, and the alarm went. No one walked or drove past during this time.
I would really appreciate some advice on this, anyone who has had a similar experience, or how to get it checked out . Thanks.

I had a similar alarm in my Bug STi. When I picked it up the owner didn't have the manual. First things I turned off were the auto locking and the annoying beep when you armed and disarmed the alarm.

Indeed, that is correct; just tested it out. Only had the car 6 years !! Thanks Norton, Stu and Dave. Still a bit scary for a 15 year old who didn't know how to get out. Not sure I believe the unlocking bit yet.... putting it down to forgetfulness until I experience it myself.
