Fmic, oil cooler, any other suggestions?
i recently had my v2 sti ra mapped using a simtek ecu, the results I got I was dissapionted with documented in a previous thread,
Ive since realised that I want to go fmic and add an oil cooler after becoming dissapionted with the cars performance, I didn't want to deviate from its originality too much but overall performance has become more important, the slanty tmic performs pathetically and an oil cooler is in my mind as I only use it for spirited drives and possibly the odd track day,
Along with these I already have the supporting mods fitted, fuel pump, injectors, decat exhaust, induction, later map sensor, later coil packs etc, I also have a fpr ready to fit,
I was wondering wether upgrading the turbo would be a good idea keeping in mind I'm sticking with the 5 speed,
The car only made 270 ponies with the mentioned mods, the mapper suggested the oem turbo would not make any more power which as stated in other threads doesn't tally up,
he didn't mention that the turbo was faulty etc, wondering if there's something else going on and upgrading to a vf34 or something else would be worthwhile,
Ultimately I would like to see my car get into 300's safely
Any suggestions appreciated

Something doesn't seem right mate. My uk turbo made more than that with the standard TD04, standard pump and 380cc injectors. It also decat up and down pipe and a FMIC. I assume you'll have a TD05 and 440cc injectors as standard and I'm pretty sure your car should have been 260/265bhp in standard trim.
Maybe you should seek help from another mapper.
You should easily be early 300's

380's as standard but upgraded to ph2 440's cleaned and tested, will definitely take it somewhere else next time, just gauging wether I need to upgrade the turbo, does anyone know if new mapper will need any info as the simtek was mapped elsewhere to begin with?

I would rather not name names but would say they seemed less knowledgeable than other reputable mappers I have used in the past, just want to make sure I get it right next time it gets mapped and any other suggested mods that would be beneficial

The slanty interwarmer on the v2 is really really crap mind :| folks seem to forget just how tiny that thing is.
If your tracking the car for the odd trackday I would consider a swirl pot as well as the oil cooler/FMIC you mentioned, You can suffer from fuel cut with anything under half a tank of fuel in it on hard cornering, this is very bad!
