Default Recommended Engine builders

Hi Guys,

I have a 360bhp newage wagon and am now ready to try and join the 500bhp club.

The question is can anyone recommend a good quality builder who could advise on the best configuration and engine spec / gearbox to match and build it.

I am in no rush and have the time / cash to do it properly!

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Craig

Many out there, many who will do good jobs, those who wont, only a few who are outstanding, as above I chose Paul Finch for my build and obviously recommend him, but speak to a few first to see how and who you get on with. Best of luck

In all fairness, as Iain has said there are plenty of engine builders about, but Paul Finch is definitely one of the top dogs in the game.
If you want a quality build go to one of the people known for top quality, reliable, work.

There are plenty of reputable engine builders to choose from.

I personally use TDR in Warwick as Mark does the full works; engine rebuilds, gearbox builds, mapping, servicing, rolling road the lot.

Sure he would be happy for you to call for ideas and indicative costs. Save you looking the number is 01926 403889

Enginetuner seem to have a good reputation around here. I had my car remapped by them recently and they seem very knowledgeable.

My top two, I am based in the south, are with out doubt

Dan Charman - Surrey Subaru Specialists
Paul Finch - Motors GT

These guys also have very good reputation and everyone has their favorite

Andy Williams - WMS Racing
Alan - Engine Tuner
And having just seen another thread on here I forgot...Len at Subaru4you, I have never used him but overs the years he has gained a very good reputation.

And remember it is not just about the quality of the builder but also about the quality of the machine work. The two obvious top dogs in the UK Subaru machining world are SMG and AS performance
