Default Help.....Subaru impreza STI style spoiler..... Help

Hi, I've just bought an STI style spoiler for my 2002 wrx bugeye, the problem is the 2 threaded inserts in the underneath of the spoiler nearest the back of the boot don't line up with the holes in the boot, I don't want to drill any holes in the boot (unless I really have to) so has anyone had this problem and does anyone know of a way to fix this and any idea's on how to fix it down to the boot lid,
I had thought of drilling straight up through the spoiler and bolting it down and putting a blanking bung in the top hole,
Any suggestions would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance: Andy

It only has 2 holes?

Doesn't seem enough to keep it stable at speed to me..

Your only real solution is to return it or drill more holes.

Personally, I'd return it and buy a genuine STi spoiler + bootlid from one of the breakers in the for sale section.

It has 4 holes with threaded inserts, 2 holes line up perfect ( the holes towards the front of the boot lid ) but the 2 holes towards the rear of the boot lid don't line up with the threaded inserts in the spoiler, ( they are about 20mm to the side of the hole in the boot lid ).

Is spoiler genuine? The bolts on a geninue spoiler are slide bolts. See if they adjust and simply need sliding back into possition.

You will need to drill the extra holes in your boot to fit A STI spoiler on a WRX,

I had to do the same on my05 wrx

If you ever change back, your old spoiler will cover the holes up

genuine Sti spoilers have 12 holes in them to attach to boot lid, so i would get a genuine one and boot lid it will be easier in the long run
