Sti parts on a wrx?
Want to know what people's general opinions are about putting sti parts on a wrx. Is it wrong or totally acceptable? I have plans to upgrade a few things to sti parts but can't decide if it's tacky or not. Already have a sti spoiler and side skirts that came already on the car but in particular I mean stuff with an sti badge on it like a front grill, or front seats. Is it like putting a turbo badge on the back of a saxo? Or is it ok as long as I do the lot, engine aswell? Any input would be appreciated.

Do what you want. I personally would be happy to add some choice parts but I wouldn't do anything which would make it look like an STi rep. Gearbox, brakes and other bits that would actually make a difference but would avoid stuff such as the grill as there is no advantage to the change!
And just to round off the year in style - you should have bought an STi
Brun - runs for cover

Both nice looking cars there. I understand that it's my own choice and it doesn't really matter what everybody else thinks, that's why I was planning the upgrades in the first place I just wanted to gauge what the general consensus is.

Yes perfectly expectable. Its hardly like putting a Subaru badge on a saxo. Loads of people do it, lets put it this way if they didn't all the breakers on here like Matty would go out of business as there would be less depend for STI parts.
As long as you stay away from the tacky mods we've all come to hate. Lexus lights, sticker kits, massive spoilers off aeroplanes, and body kits. Then your Impreza will look good, i'm sure.

Not keen on too many STI parts stuck on a wrx, but IMO a Subaru needs a big spoiler
Some people try to make others think they own an STI, but most of the other subaru owners that they are trying to impress know that it's a WRX anyway
I've seen a couple of 'WR1' look a likes that are just WRX's in a similar colour (not even the same colour), with WR1 badges on. One even had a slanty classic STI spoiler on and 'subaru' calipers
Same with hatches, I've seen a couple of WRX's with STI badges on and they just look silly

The sti styling pack looks a dam sight better than the wrx.
And now more than ever there is a massive price difference between the two cars.
For me personally do what you like, its your own car.

DON'T do it man!!! All them STI parts will add weight, the car will feel slower and 0-60 greatly reduced.
Ask yourself this,if you went bald would you wear a wig and pretend you're something you're not?

When I had my WRX I fitted an STi spoiler, Ironically now prefer the smaller WRX spoiler my STi spec D has.
Mind you, I really hate it when people put STi badges on a WRX, just totally wrong IMO.

Buy a spoiler scoop and skirts and winglets. Then your 3 grand car suddenly looks very much a 6 grand sti.
If the gearbox and 4 pots are in good Nick they will be fine. The other difference (the vf turbo) is a personal choice and can be added for 350 but your better off looking for a cheap full decat then remap for sti performance straight out the box 😊
Happy new year!!

P.s as its new year here's a pro tip. The best first mod you can do over all is a set off 4 decent performance tyres.
They will give you so much more braking, acceleration, cornering and feel plus you dont declare it to your insurance! Result

some people can afford an sti but have a wrx these owners generally dont bleet about the wrx being the best car.
the ones that cant afford the sti usually spend most of their time trying to convince themselves and others the wrx is better, probably because deep down they are just upset they couldnt afford an sti.

Wasn't planning on putting sti badges on but I do like the interior which obviously has sti on the seats. What do people think about the intercooler which has sti on it but can't be seen unless bonnet is open?
