Can of worms duly opened.
1. You'll get almost as many recommendations as there are types of tyre.
2. Do be careful that recommendations are for YOUR car, not a newage........tyres that perform on the newage don't necessarily perform on yours.
3. We could do with knowing what wheels are on it and what size existing tyres, or what you want to go to?
4. FWIW: on mine, 98 classic, Toyo Proxes T1S, 215/40 x 17" Third set, will buy again.

Tyres have come on a lot since those Avons were made, so almost anything will be better. For what it's worth, I like the Nokian Z-Line on 16" wheels on a classic. Always rated high in reviews, wet grip A, good steering feel, very grippy, won't last you 8 years though lol. Whatever you go for, buy online at Oponeo or wherever, and get them fitted locally.

think theyre about £90 a corner,
good in the wet and seeing our weather here s more wet/damp ... I want better grip then.
