Have you checked the idle control valve?

Is it possible you have disturbed/knocked a sensor or wires while fitting the clutch?
Have you plugged in the self diagnostics to check for any error codes?

Sounds more maf related to me. Although a 95 maf is no where near as fragile as an MY99 for instance, the symptoms do sound that way.
Until you can rule it out for certain, I would avoid boost as a screwed maf can easily lead to a screwed engine!

The solution would be nice.Helps everyone to avoid chasing around if they have the same problems & adds to the knowledge database which is pretty much the point of these forums.

Nice one,glad it's sorted mate.
Defiantly one to remember as on my next clutch change I will probably go for a lightened fly wheel.
