Default Unknown seller - Subaru parts

Hi All,
Was looking for body panels for my car when I came across an add on Gumtree advertising an engine and others parts. After an exchange of text messages the seller convinced me that they had the panels I was looking for. As he was in the NW and me down South he asked for a deposit before delivering the parts, I thought this was fair and duly deposited £100 by bank transfer.

Parts were supposed to be delivered yesterday and seller is no longer answering my calls or texts.

Not accusing the seller just yet but was wondering if any community member may know the individual, perhaps they are unable to respond to my communications for a valid reason?

What I know is the seller seemed to know a lot about Subaru's . He claimed to do a lot of engine work for others from a garage/shop, including rebuilds, sanding and powder coating blocks, replacing wheel bearings, etc. Claimed he frequented scoobynet and pistonheads, hence my post here.

The original add is still on Gumtree, click here>>> Subaru 2.5se non turbo

When I google the mobile number it also links to this add for a private plate "M2 MLK", click here: M2 MLK. This add was was removed soon after I first contacted the seller, maybe a coincidence.

Cheers

Willing to give the seller some more time to respond. Don't think bank transfers can be rescinded. Was wondering if anyone knew them and their circumstances.

sounds like you have been scammed

Never pay someone that you don't know by bank transfer or paypal gift. If they demand you to pay by either, there is something fishy going on. Pay by paypal for goods and you offer to pay extra to cover the fees

BTW, I've got loads of body panels, all models and all colours. Just send me £100 by bank transfer and I'll get them in the post tomorrow Honest!
