Default Radiator caps

Hi guys,,,

has anyone fitted the uprated STI 1.3 radiator caps on there cars and if so this may sound silly but do they do any different to what was on the car in any way or is it just a cosmetic thing ???

Few pros and a few cons I wouldn't fit unless I had silicone water hoses. It doesn't make the slightest bit of difference the driver would notice.

Some cars have 0.9 caps some 1.1 then the 1.3 if your top and bottom hoses are anyway weak which they are susceptible to they will burst you know the scenario then.

Yip all your doing is adding more pressure to the system id leave the standard one on unless your running quite a modded car and stronger coolant hoses.

Higher pressure raises the boiling point of the coolant. Pointless on a road car really!
