Can't you just put partner full stop, on it's own instead of specifying wife first??? 
There are some female fanatics on here like me who love their cars more than the moajority of partnered up blokes

The wife is pretty good about it.Only get some grief when she think's I should be doing more DIY and not playing with the car.
If she knew the money I have spent that might be a different story

You think that your mods are cheap! My STI cost me £ 17k!!! and when i went to collect it the dealer took down all the price signs of the roofs of the cars and removed all the price lists from the sales area so that my significant other half didnt see anything.
She sometmes thinks i might be sh$$ing someone the amount of time i spend driving round in it. I love it!!!
