Default Driving experience

Mrs got me a driving experience day today.
drove a blob sti. evo and gtr round a track.

While in the impreza it kept fuel cutting at a certain rev. The the instructor told me it was because i was planting the throttle instead of progressively pressing it, making it over fuel?? first time ive heard that one.

evo and gtr were great

Lol! I think he was spinning you a bit of a yarn there mate. Can't say I've ever heard of it. It's a performance car, why would Subaru design it so you couldn't put your foot down quickly?

Mine certainly accelerates better if I gradually push the throttle rather than slamming it to the floor. This is only true when accelerating from a relatively low speed though (from 40mph in 4th for instance)
