Looks good in pics and description reads well. Ask for a copy of the export certificate and grade sheet to see the mileage / condition it left Japan in. Good price for a fresh import bugeye wagon as you dont come across many.

Hi JJ, I looked at a couple of these before deciding on the hatch that I am importing. They are rare and will therefore hold value better than a UK, although more rare jdm models are appearing here nowdays. It was the last STI wagon made. You really need to see it in the flesh, but it looks good, and will sell quickly if ok. It would need undersealing and mapping for uk fuel; in a perfect world you would look for a standard one, so the modifications need checking out. Very different from a uk wrx wagon.
I`ll pm some pics and info about my wagon, but if I had to choose, I would go for an STI wagon

Body kit is awful but easily removed, funnily enough I've seen a few bug wagons with the same kit.

One thing I quite like is the head lights look old, shows (potentially) they've not been replaced due to accident.

Great cars though. If you look at it, make sure you see a cold start and make sure it's not shaking!

I'd love another one!

My concerns would be:

Bodykit
Wheels
"Mods"
Should it not have Brembos?

All relatively easy to rectify though. You're paying for the rarity, so to my mind it has to as OEM as possible, especially to retain it's price.

Having said that, it's an STi Wagon, so very cool. But it's £7k for a Bug with 80k that will need money spent on it. I can see a grand being spent on it straight away. A lot cheaper ways to have a fast Wagon for sure. I'd like one but I guess it depends whether £7k is a lot of money to you or not?

Also, dare I say it seems "too cheap"? What price was it in Japan, given that it's been shipped from there, inspected and MoT'd, all paperwork done and it's being sold straight away and presumably for a reasonable profit, at £7k? Maybe the mods counted against it at auction?

The JDM Bug STi wagons do not have DCCD or Brembos.

I was aware of non-DCCD (although it may have been an option) but surprised about the Brembos - why fit them on the saloon and not wagon, especially when the Wagon comes with the wider STi wheels required to clear the calipers? No big issue retro-fitting them of course.

I do like a nice wagon, though that is not a nice wagon! Too much to do for the money imo.

It's been on ebay for a couple of months now and I assume hasn't sold because of the bodykit. These are far more desirable when in standard form. It does look a nice wagon behind the hideous bodykit and wheels which as James says wouldn't be too much hassle to remove/change. There is another of these on ebay as well with 32k miles on but no pics yet and nearly £9k so this does look good value but would still haggle that price down.
