Default Quick Type R question

Are there any mechanical differences between a V6 Type R (in this particular case a grey Type R I like the look of) and a V6 Type R WRC (other than the roof vent)

I think both also had quick rack steering, must have been wanting to get rid of them

Interesting stuff. So no mechanical differences on the Type R but some on the RA.

So is it not

My last Impreza was a V6 RA V Limited but not the STI version.

If I get another Impreza it will only be used occasionally (just want to have one and can't get excited enough about Evos - I'll miss the noise) but it has to be a classic and has to be either a V6 Type R in grey or V Limited or a V6 STI RA V Limited.

two doors is also a big clue

lol, sorry couldn't resist.

v5 or v6 type r would be my choice

v5-v6 difference's

Front splitter added
Rear spoiler made higher
Thinner rear quarter glass added

Also have to hold the clutch in to start a V6

LOL well yes, there is the doors

I've had two 4 doors and would like the rarity of having a 2 door. Although an STI RA V Limited is likely to be cheaper to buy than a Type R - not that I'm not prepared to pay because I want a good example. Just think either version would scratch the itch if you know what I mean.

Might be time to get brave and start looking

V6 Type R WRC only came in 74F. Came with Roof flap, blue dash, plaque and various seats (either blue fronts or v5/6 grey/red). Engine spec is the same however some came with upgrades underneath like pink sti lateral arms.

It's a V Ltd car not a WRC.

I've seen the car on their website and it's what started me off thinking about getting a Type R. Haven't spoken to them as didn't want to waste their time until I was sure it's the direction I want to take.

It's very much what I want - late version and standard. I think in the future, the more factory standard these cars are the higher price they'll command. I made a mistake about 10 years ago and didn't buy a Lancia Delta Intergrale Evo when I had the chance (at £6K would you believe) I don't want to make the same mistake again.

The big letters saying limited says all you need to know.

No you're wrong, it says WRC so it's deffo a WRC edition. Just like all V3 type R's are actually 555 editions because it says so on the seats

Mine has the STi Quick Rack, it's Type-R 555! But as you say, it could have been added as a option. As far as I'm aware all Type-R's were hand built outwith the production line, so they were almost all spec'd to divisional customers spec and hard to find two the same.

No type R had quickrack, even as an option. Later STI RA had quickrack as standard and early STI RA had it as an option.
