Keeping these as a weekend toy is DEFINATELY the way forward IMO. If I had to drive mine every day, I wouldent enjoy it anywhere near as much as I do now. Few things are better than opening that garage up on a sunny Friday afternoon!
Good point above about the masses of dull German machinery too. Just the colour alone (o2c) makes the Impreza stand out a mile, especially on a sunny day.

Couldnt stand driving it everyday, gives me a headache, loud, rock hard, to scared to park it anywhere.
But on the weekend I can just enjoy it as I want.

Know what you mean about German machinery. Sold a nice BMW for my Impreza 10 years ago and have not looked back. Love Subaru's now. Great cars. Have their problems like any other marque but for me at least, they make me feel great when driving them. I feel like I'm 17 still, which realistically couldn't be further from the truth!

Worried.
Worried it'll break, worried people think I look like a bell end, worried about fuel consumption, worried about how much I want to spend on her....
But my god that speed is incredible. I recently drove a Lamborghini Gallardo and power delivery and noise was not a patch on my new (2003) WRX STi. The cobra back box is incredibly childish, but I can't see me getting bored. Car only comes out at weekends so the 15-20mpg doesn't unduly concern me.....my wife on the other hand!
