Default Manchester Subaru Garages

Hi Guys,

I've just recently purchased a 55 plate Blobeye WRX and just for piece of mind, I'm thinking of getting an inspection done on it, ideally the sooner the better.

After some research, I have noticed a few specialists that have been recommended; Prosport - their phone number dials as an incorrect number and Autotecnica in Buxton is a bit far away just for an inspection - I'm located in Oldham, North Manchester. HDC Subaru are booked up until 25th.

So the closest place I've found is Colin Appleyard Suzuki and Subaru Cars in Ashton (East Manchester) and I was just wondering has anyone had any dealings with this company? And if so, how was your experience?

I don't really want anyone inspecting / working on my car lacking knowledge in Subaru's to be honest. Thanks for your replies.

You need to go to a specialist, not Colin apple yard!

Richard Henry Motorsport in Bradford, only half hour down the road from you. Service and knowledge is superb.

Didn't realise Richard Henry's was only 35 mins away from me. Cheers guys, will go there instead and most likely for the forseeable future

They are excellent mate, Andy the owner is a good friend of mine and looks after a lot of cars locally, including 3 race cars, one being my own, all 3 are winning competitive cars.
Big power road cars, some north of 600bhp, show cars. The lot!
Thinking about it, your closer than me, I travel 45mins weekly to go over.
I can only reiterate what I said, they really are a superb ou fit. Give them a bell and let us know how you get on. Regards Joe

Definitely don't bother with Appleyards in Ashton, useless when I had my 55 sti.

As others have already said well worth the trip to Buxton to Autotecnica

Cool beans. I've spoken to RH but they are busy for the next two weekends lol. Looks like everyone's getting their Subaru's in shape for the summer

I second this. You won't regret it.
About 45mins for me as well...over an hour at rush hour. Damn Leeds/Bradford ring roads

Go Richard Henry mate

Colin appleyard in Ashton is mainly a Suzuki dealer - they only became a sub dealer circa 2 years ago

Hardly any Imprezas there they seem to push only brand new cars so id doubt the skills of there workshop, you really need to see a specialist rather than a Colin appleyard main dealer type place

Cheers bud, great to know there will be some people that I can rely on relatively close to home.

I've already booked in with Richard Henry's now and hopefully will stick with him throughout the ownership of my Subaru now

Don't think Prosport specialise in Subaru any more. I think they have become a VW / Audi specialist.

not a specialist Subaru garage but I can recommend Diggle Motors in Diggle, speak to Dale (the owner) he has built a 500bhp bug spec c and is very knowledgeable when it comes to imprezas. he's also done events with Team Subaru using his car

Has anyone had any work done at Adge Speed in Irlam, Manchester? That's another garage not too far from me and maybe worth checking out?

I've used Adge speed. Can't fault him, lots of knowledge. He did timing belt, service etc. Carried lots of used spares with some looking good value. Stockists for various bits and has a few engines for sale. Decent price and seems an honest fella. Think he runs and races his own cars at a couple of places.

Richard Henry have looked after my car in the past, but I can also recommend AMW Motorsport in Bradford. They are a personal friend but very bespoke and very knowledgeable.

Richard Henry Motorsport is where you need to be. As mentioned maintains a lot of big power cars as well as daily road cars. Fair prices, good guys. Looks after all my cars and the only place I would go.
