Default Ebay GC8 Coilovers?

Hello Fellow Scoobi Doo's

Just a thought...

I have a classic that is hardly used and i dont have the intention of spending big money on it.

Its basically a show car as it is however its sitting on standard UK TURBO suspension.

I need to get it lowered and stanced right. Has anyone used Ebay GC8 Coilovers on there 2000 classic turbo? if so. are they decent?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adjustable...4AAOSwnGJWS0Iq

Thoughts?

Regards

Decent for £209... I think not!!
If you want a decent set of coil overs you are going to need to spend a bit more than that...
If your shocks are in good condition just put a set of lowered springs on it.

Thanks for the feedback. i know it sounds stupid but maybe im being stupid. Mmm my shocks are starting to go as the car is not as stiff as it should be.

the other options are BC Racing but thats a fair bit of money and i cant spend that much as yet as im looking for a house. ergh!

kyb shocks with prodrive or sti springs.

I tried 2 sets of coilovers and theyre useless on uk roads. My car rides and sits perfectly on shocks/springs

Quite a few people (me included) have bought the meister r coilovers from the group buy and they have been great. My car is a daily drive and family taxi and they're great, especially compared to the knocking sagging mess they replaced.
The PCA springs get great reviews and I've also heard good things about the prodrive and eibach sets. But to be honest this is an expensive mod. The MeisterRs with fitting and alignment came in at almost £850. A decent set of springs, new shocks and new top mounts, plus fitting and alignment will be a not dissimilar amount.
So, it's all about do you want to be able to adjust them? Springs and shocks tend to be better for the road and daily use so where do you use the car the most?

Ps. Stay away from cheap ebay coilovers! If you're on a budget keep an eye on the breaker section.

I think i may just settle for KYB and Tein Springs? Any idea how much Prodrive or STI springs lower by?

I am not looking for a silly drop. I only want a 30mm to 40mm drop.

Many thanks for the great feedback response. I did check those out and they seem way to expensive for me.

I currently run 3 cars, and i do professional karting. i cant afford to spend that much on coilovers however i 100% agree with what your saying. i guess if you pay **** money you get **** quality. (HA-HA).

I think maybe KYB shocks with Tein Springs sounds good as mentioned earlier.

I dont want to adjust the cars height, as its a show car and is hardly driven. It comes out 3-4 times in a month.

I have some Rota Formula Mesh going on them which i managed to grab for a bargain. Rare as hell and i want the car to sit decent. preferably a 30-40mm drop all around.

Regards

I've seen someone fit a set of these not to a scooby, worked fine, only down side rusted over quite quickly. Personally i'd stick to your standard set, or buy some used STI suspension.
