Question

I'll be visiting the Milton Keynes area for work next week, and would like to maybe pick up some goodies that are not available here in the US. Are there any shops that come highly recommended in that area?

And would any locals with a 22b care to take me for a spin?? (wishful thinking, probably)

Any info would be appreciated!

Hi Dave.
What kind of things are you after? There are a couple of places in MK that sell tuning stuff, but not many. It depends what you're after.

Ideally there'd be a shop that carries Scoobysport exhausts, although I don't know whether they have resellers or sell out of their own shop only. Alternatively I'd like to find a shop (or an individual) that's trying to get rid of an STi backbox, since those are hard to come by here.

If Demon Tweeks' prices are anything to go on, Sparco/Sabelt equipment is a lot cheaper over there. I'd like to perhaps pick up some clubman belts for AutoX... Additionally, I'd be interested in seeing any Prodrive items available that are small enough to fit into a suitcase or box.

Finally, any WRC or F1 fan-wear (shirts, ball caps, etc.)... Very hard to come by here in the US, unless you mail order.

See, my wishes are moderate

You're yanking my chain??? Next friday may be the only day I have off, before I leave on the 26th! If there's any way for me to be at the track day, I'll be there!

It's actually shaping up to be a bit of a whirlwind trip, because I need to stop by three offices: MK, London, and Chesterfield (Midlands?). All I know for now is that I'm flying into London on Saturday morning, and need to be in MK by Monday. I'll keep an eye on the board for info on the track day!

I live in Milton Keynes, and I don't beleive there are any decent places here, although I did hear that there's a place in Bedford, which is only 15 miles away. I'll make some enquiries.

Although I don't have a 22B, if you want a spin in a P1, you're more than welcome. Just email me, and I'll give you my telephone numbers.

I'm also photographing the track day for the SIDC, so if you need a lift over to Bedford just let me know.

Finally, by coincidence, I currently have an STi backbox for sale.

Cheers

There is a company in Stacey Bushes, Milton Keynes called "AutoXS" but I don't think their prices are the most competitive....

Thanks

How long are you over in MK for?
There's a Scooby track day next Friday just 15 miles from Milton Keynes if you fancy coming along to watch? Pete from Scoobysport could bring an exhaust for you I'm sure.
There's a Scooby dealer in MK called Anthony Betts, they may stock a few small Prodrive items.
You're only 15 mins away from Silverstone though where there are several motorsport shops.

Thank you Simon!

I hate to ask, but I don't suppose it was your P1 I saw this morning being overtaken by everything bar the milk float was it?

If it wasn't, it's a very friendly guy who's pinched your car/plate you.........BARSTEWARD!

I hope your disk warp!

Love and Kisses

LOL

Good to see that smack-talking is alive and well in MK!!

Josh, I'll drop you a line today... I'm definitely down for a cruise, and maybe we can strike a deal for your backbox too?

Thanks for the tips.. I'll be sure to check out scoobyparts.com!

DeepBeep,

If your'e travelling between Milton Keyens & Chesterfield on the M1, then call into Graham Goode Motorsport in Leicester on your way through.

They are not far off the motorway and are a piece of cake to find.

I too am a P1 driving resident of Milton Keynes.

Ciao for now.

to Josh

Just out from my house so still cold & I have a bloody big motor & pump unit in the boot rolling around that I was taking to our rewinder man. Longest I have ever taken to get out of mk in the morning & every bugger wanted a race . Btw, waiting @ bus stops might get you in trouble.
