Thank you for making my Day seem a lot better...
Sorry to hear about your crap day though..
I think the Impreza 4door with big spoiler, and large gold alloys does attract attention especially in a bright paint colour..
I have a green 5door and have not been pulled at all, get a few looks as they go the other way though.
Ho ho JGM

I am sorry to hear about your troubles, i have been in similar situations but just slightly different. I remember one noght driving slowely the whole night i mean really at the speed limit and get pulled over 3 times. I couldn't believe it.
1. At the lights on Finchley road. Me the copper and a 911 in the 3 lanes. The 911 pulls of and goes ahead, i pull off and then the copper pulls off the 911 stays infront of me and stsrts pulling away. They ended up pulling me over for speeding. The other was because i went at a rounabout and because the copper was doing 60 in a thirty and took the roundabout a bit to fast for his driving skills he thought he would tug me over and ask me if i didn't see him coming and why did i pull out.
They are mad men!!!!!!
Anyway i dont have a scooby and i live in NW london when i am not at uni so if you fancy giving us a ride in it it would be much appreciated as i want one desperately.
p.s dont sell it just because of that!!!!!!!

16 months/42000miles of Impreza ownership - stopped almost every week, given over 20 producers. Only 1 actual offence.
3 months/7500miles of BMW 330d ownership - stopped once, and that was because a car of similar description had been involved in a crime of some sorts.
"Impreza" must be police code for "stop me and waste my time"

Gary - Just to temper your comment
I have had my car for 18 months - 38K miles
I work odd hours so am out and about at all hours of the day and night
Never been stopped by the police, not once.
I used to get stopped once a month when i had bikes mind you.

For what it's worth it's just luck of the draw sometimes -- it's as if someone's decided it's your turn to be in the ****.
In me youth in the Leeds area, I used to get stopped on my bike (a Suzi X7, good nick, standard pipes as well) once a week **at least**. No convictions, no accusations, just "is this your bike sonny?"
Once I got pulled so a new traffic cop could be trained in how to check number plates etc!!! Tried to argue to the toss on how it wasn't the best use of my time, and you can imagine how well that was received.
In 18 years driving / riding since then, I've *never* been stopped since -- I think I rode all my bad luck in those two years.

Nice sunny day, sit and have a spot of breakfast in the garden, was`nt really gonna go anywhere but Mrs wants to pop down the West End for a bit of shopping. Anyway, travelling home round Hyde Park Corner hot and bothered, big Islamic march going on so traffic moving slow, spot Bill and Ben the Police Officers in my rear, obviously nothing better to do with themselves giving me the finger to pull over, Ben gets out with bad attitude `nice motor but you were doing over 40 , I said rubbish traffice was going so slow how could I , argument goes on for next 10 mins while everyone goes past gauping, in the end I told him he`s talking bo**ocks just let me get on my way and give me a producer , Bill sees sense and so they toddled off, drive home irritated , decide to drop mrs off and take a drive and wash the car, drive a bit further than planned and stop off to get some petrol, while filling up spot the man in the station giving me a funny look think i must be tripping i have`nt had any dinner yet. Go to pay man who looks like something out of a horror film big goggley eyes, he says sorry this £20 is`nt real, this is all i had with me after all I was only gonna go up the road. Big argument starts all other customers giving their opinion of how real it is, he calls the Flying squad who can`t be that interested as after 40 mins we are still waiting my patiece snaps, I am now on the run having collected a producer, being wanted for using bent £20 notes and not paying for petrol in the space of 1 and a half hours.
Mrs has since had the note checked and been back to the goggly eyed monster with a few choice words, i`m staying in and playing the playstation and thinking of getting rid of the motor as this is`nt the first time this sort of thing has happenned.

I used to get stopped a lot, I live in docklands and the IRA had just blown the place to smithereens. Then one day I was actually in a hurry (but not speeding) - to an engagement party, I was best man - so I argued, "come on guys, I need to get on"
not a good idea.
they searched my car and found all my tools in the boot. I was issued with a caution for having a sharp and bladed object in a public space (in the glovebox) - it was a swiss army knife. I spent 4.5 hours in a cell, missed the party, and nearly got a work visa to the USA rejected because of it some years later.
I think I'm going to emigrate. this country sucks. the 'metro' newspaper is reportaing that there are 1/2 as many police officers in london and 4x the amount of crime than new york - oh, and we pay shedloads more in tax and get paid less.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.
I know this won't make you feel any better but in 13 months of ownership I've never been pulled over...and being a Terzo the colour doesn't exactly blend in either!
Anyway, I hope you won't be forced into selling your Scoob.

You and GaryC both look like villains then?
I have never been stopped, cos I look like I'd probably bore 'em to death and be polite.
Imagine if everybody just accepted forged notes, there'd be no problem!!
Playstation, hmmmmm. Get yourself a PC and a copy of Counterstrike and join us in online mayhem every Tuesday night!! Great stress reliever, unless you're crap at it like me.
