These days everyone pushing power, particularly in classics has done 6speed conversions, myself included.
Out of curiosity does Anyone still run the PPG gearboxes that everyone used to have?
In particular the dog engagement boxes.
Had 2 a synchro and a dog.
Broke the dog box buy synchro was sound.
Have another synchro sitting in my garage good to go.
Can't beat the sound of straight cut if you ask me

IMO dog boxes are for competition use only, not sure why you would ever want or need one for road use and the cost to maintain them correctly needs to be factored in also
Yes comes In synchromesh and straight or helical cut.
I personally find the 5 speed gear change and ratios better for the road

5 speed Straight Cut box here but the car spends a lot of time on the track
Can the helical ones be used with a DCCD box? I'm guessing so, but if I ever hike the power in my Type R this is the route I'd rather take over a 6 speed.
DCCD is just the tail casing you can bolt that to any type of box, I think they are only available with UK ratios (well thats what they used to be). They normally break on a launch do the PPG boxes so if road use and track work you should be ok
