I'm considering doing the same - I think it can only be good as it flows more air over the IC. What I'd like to know is the effect this has on heat soak - will it reduce soak, or expedite it as it might pull warm air throught the IC at a higer rate at standstill ?

As far as we can tell so far.. all good. we have been running one for a while now.
What was interesting is when we tried the Motec back to back with and without.. The run "with" appeared to show a marginal improvement at the very top end. Nothing massive but enough to help you justify it. Plus of course.. they look ace! ;0
Cheers

I know two other people that ran with the STi scoops apart from being twice as high as standar they didn't/haven't mentioned any major improvements.

I've got the Scoobysport carbon fibre one
It is worth getting the STI under tray aswell so aal that extra air goes into the scoop

got the sti scoop fitted to my WRX - looks great - no noticable performance increase but with scoobysport downpipe the turbo noises are louder. Genuine article is excellent quality, lighter than standard WRX version, even though larger and is very easy to fit.

I'm planning to buy it since I already fitted an STI intercooler on my WRX. So far the car is less influenced by traffic heating. In fact it doed respond to accelerations after long trafiic periods in the same way it does on fast condition (vented).
I'm on for a group buy!

Hi Guys
this is good... If we can order enough we should be able to get these for a very sensible figure
These come direct from Japan.. so will take a little while. We may have to ask for a small deposit due to the quantity required.
Just to reiterate. This is The Genuine RA Scoop.. made of bendy bendy plastic.. easy to paint.. etc etc. blah blah blah
Cheers
