Default Cobra Sport VS. Hayward & Scott

OK, so what with the issues I am facing with the Tomei exhaust I fitted, sadly it has got to go. Real shame as its more of a work of art than an exhaust!

I am now looking at getting a turbo back system.

I've narrowed it down to either a Cobra Sport, or a Hayward & Scott system.

I would like to get some opinions on fit and finish from people who have experience with each brand.

So what are your thoughts on Hayward & Scott VS. Cobra Sport?

To be honest, I have read various posts on here and other forums saying that both are good systems, and both fit well for the most part, but then there are other posts saying that either brand has fitment issues and that H&S are better quality than Cobra.

Currently my winter car, a SF5 Forester has a H&S system on it and it sounds and looks good. Thats the only experience I have with either brand so would love to get some insight into what people think of both.

Cheers

H&s fit like ****, I have the downpipe and had to bash it a bit to get it away from gearbox casing, few others have had crap fitment issues with h&s also.
I think it's just luck really if it fits perfectly

Hi Ive had both. Cobrasport is the cheap option. Their open neck downpipe is poorly finished at the top flange. Mine split and had a 9" crack, was returned under the lifetime warranty - they patched it up and said it'd never happen again. Within three months the bottom half came apart. I didn't bother returning it. I went back to the best ... H&S.
The diff in quality is vast - you'll get what you pay for. ; )

as mentioned , avoid both with recent images of quality from both,
save for a Milltek seems the way to go.

Seems both have bad press!

What about RCM exhausts?

Would like a Milltek but they dont list any for the GC8.

As long as you buy the whole system there is no reason a newage system wont fit, there is one hanger on the rear boxes that is different,
I run a classic system on my newage.

What system do you have mate?

Seems that there are only 2.75" inch systems available, and only with a sports cat.

I've come across a few 3", but none listed on their website, all 2.75" for a newage.

So let me get this right, the first one linked above, without the sports cat will fit my 2.0 Type R even though it says.

Fits: Subaru Impreza WRX STi 2.5 2005-2008

Yes sorry missed that myself, I don't know tbh, but pictures look ok but they could be just generic ones.
Best to contact direct for better information and stock.

Further to my earlier post : Currently have H&S ceramic coated d/pipe mated to full Miltex cat back. TBH its build quality is in the middle. I was quite surprised at how the back boxes are cheaply finished / welded / looks like a sorta crimped together design (obviously cost effective).
I wouldn't go Milltex again. Neither Cobrasport. Yes speaking from personal experience - as OP requested. : )

So you don't recommend Cobra, Milltek or H&S?
