Default 1997 forester rear driveshaft removal

Hi can anyone give me any info on removing the rear driveshafts from a forester 1997 auto , i have replaced the fronts which have pins going through the shafts coming out of the engine but there are no pins on rears coming out of rear gear box, there are cast iron rings on the box do you have 2 remove these and if so are the driveshafts a male fitting into box and will oil leak if i remove them .would appreciate your help, when i turn the steering wheel to park or turn sharply i am getting a banging noise from the back end iam not sure if it is rear drive shafts (halfshafts) main shaft or gearbox / diff, i would really appreciate your help .kev

They just pop out they are on circlips onside the diff so a swift tap with a rubber mallet should do it.

And yes you should get some oil out.
