Track reliability?

Track reliability?
Gents, be gentle. Please?
Driving a leon cupra r ('03) at the moment, it's modified, it's reliable but it's not really doing it for me.
So I'm looking for a replacement. Now this won't happen for a while and I change my mind every week about what car to get. At the moment an evo is top of the list but am also thinking about a 335i.
The thing is, I can't get the subaru out of my mind, more specifically something like '03- '04 blobeye sti.
The problem comes with trackdays and my perception of their reliability at trackdays. I tend to do a nurburgring trip and one trackday a year, every year.
With my cupra I did mods which I knew would help not just to make it quicker but to survive a trackday, things like an oil cooler, fmic, baffled sump.
My main question is, what mods would be needed to not hear the big ends on an sti go knock knock after 10 minutes on track?
Car would be used daily, not a lot of mileage but with the above mentioned track outings. Oil would be changed regularly and would be using the good stuff.
Thanks for any help!

Sti
Well for what it's worth I've been doing track days and going to the Nurburgring a minimum of 2 times a year since 2000 and have never blown an sti up, worst I've ever done is a clutch, wheel bearings a few tho that's because of using slicks nipped a few syncros on the 6 speed box but that's about it, most important things are upgrade fuel pump, exhaust and air filter and have it mapped!! In my first 02 blob I think I did 20 track days and 10 ring trips before I sold it and then I moved on to spec c's which are pretty bomb proof if you do the basics

Making the right choice of car is paramount, if you're serious about track days then save your pennies and go for a Spec C, they're basically prepped for the job out of the factory.

i agree with man utd. never use rubbish cheap oil, filters or fuel. it will only bite you back. 1mile on track equalls 500miles on the road . so service accordenally.
