What is your budget?
As been asked already - PCD?
Is it a daily or a weekend toy?

PCD? I have no idea... how do I find this out? Excuse my stupidness 🙄
And it's a daily drive that may go to santa pod for a few RWYB days but not a track weapon.

Thanks for any help👍

Bug STi and early Blob STi models (so 2002-2004) have 5x100 PCD. Widetrack Blob STi and all Hawk STi models (so 2005 or later) have 5x114.3 PCD.

PCD refers to the wheel's bolt pattern. The 5 means there are five bolts. If you were to draw a circle through the bolts, the 100 or 114.3 would represent the circle's diameter (in mm).

Ok thanks... so I need 5x100👍 As mine is a 03 plate sti.
Budget, I'm looking around the 500 mark if that's realistic?

Found a set of springs on scoobyparts for 120.. and they lower it 15mm
So it's just how much decent shocks are gonna be really?

Thanks again

I have the same car, daily driver and just replaced all shocks with kyb ultra sr.
Think they are the same or similar damping rate as the OE subaru red ones.
Definately feels firmer now and more planted.....

Used with the OE springs, which i will probably change out for some prodrive/eibach springs in the future

Yes, your car is 5x100.

I don't think you're going to be able to buy new shocks and springs for £500. Just a set of four shocks, such as KYBs, is going to cost not much less than that. And then a set of decent springs will probably cost about £200.

What brand are the springs you have seen for £120?

Suitable for STI saloon (not wagon) 5 x 100pcd

Kyb ultra sr non-inverted struts (require external bump stops) 324030 324031 324032 324033

Kyb ultra sr inverted struts (Front bump stop very stiff - If lowered, front and rear, internal, stops need changing. Rear struts wear out all to quickly) 321002 321003 321004 321005

*The FRONT struts listed above are NOT suitable for 114.3pcd
*The REAR struts listed above are suitable for 114.3pcd

STI and WRX springs are different rates, The springs you have mentioned, are listing the same spring for WRX and STI.

Hi.

I have 53 plate sti.
Currently runs tein springs which were £150 if iirc from scooby spares. I then put kyb sr ultras on the rear.
Currently the front has the original prodrive shocks but are in need of a change as they are starting to knock.
That setup has given me a 12.14 @ 113mph.

Plus the ride for me is perfect

Was thinking this might be the way to go... do the rear first then the fronts in a couple of months. Does it not have uneven ride height at the front and rear now you have different shocks?

Thanks👍

Nope the ride height has obviously dropped as the springs drop the car accordingly.

http://www.scoobyparts.com/suspensio...-new-age-03-07

As i said before the ride for me is excellent, its not too hard at all, i have had coilovers before, for a road car, used daily the ride was too hard, hence why i opted for the softer approach.
Its not uneven at all. Handles well, i would also if you have not all ready, drop links and a ARB, that also helps with the handling of the car, but you want some springs so thought i would share my expercience.

regards

The tein s springs are sti front spring rates, wrx rear rates. Whilst lowering the car onto its bump stops.

Tein basics , fairly cheap , only height adjustable but work well , based on it being a daily drive
