RCM posted this on their FB page....newly built engine by them with 0 miles.....as usual someone on FB has been possibly a bit bitchy and said that if this is worth that price then his is worth £50K.....

Worth more than any equivalent UK spec Hatch with 36k on the clock anyday. In fact the suspension and brakes are worth more than half the cars advertised on various "enthusiast" FB pages.

What power are they good for std?
It's a lot of money, the only benefit I could imagine from buying one is if it we're for investment reasons.
By the time you buy a 2.5 STI and stick say 5-7k in to it you've probably got a far better motor with plenty change.
I absolutely love how the big brakes look, it makes me hate the std wrx brakes even more. The STI hatch looks decent but these look pretty big.

I agree it's not worth anywhere near that, fair enough it's had an engine rebuild at RCM but you can't just use that as a justification for the high price.
It's not as if they could sell it with a knackered engine and still think it would be worth £20k or so.
I think it would be worth high teens or at a push £20K to the right buyer but at £26995 they are dreaming.

And I stand by my initial response, that the £27k is justified, not many people have probably read the spec sheet or looked at the PH advert or noticed it is a Litchfield Type 20, R205 suspension, ALCON Brakes, the RCM rebuild and very low mileage.
A new STi with the pooh.5 is £30K

It's a very nice car though, nice spec. Wouldn't mind it myself, could get the dog in the back with that hatchback.

Cosworth CS400 are averaging about £30k (the cheapest sold on SN was £28K two years ago!) which apart from the Subaru Operetta is very rare with only 75 ever built as a halo car for Subaru UK. I cannot find one for sale at the moment.
