Believe me it's not a joke, the over-inflated Impreza 22B bubble has gone mad!

I remember looking at this particular car in Manchester back in 2004... At the time it had 40-odd thousand on the clock and the dealer wanted circa £25k for it... (The same dealer also had Nicky Grists old 000 plate car there, for which he wanted £29k!)

A year later i bought one with 13k on the clock for a fair bit less money, and could have picked up a dozen of them for similar money over the following few years, but decided to put money into property instead

Go figure

Steve

Money into property instead - silly silly man

How much do these 22B's actually sell for? What are people paying? It's crazy how much they've increased in price.

when ropey, tired 180k mile ones are selling at 70k hammer price in japan its easy to understand why 100k isn't that bad for the market.

With that particular trader, you'll not get a penny off either.

I certainly can't understand why anyone would want to pay that for an 18 year old Japanese Impreza

Because it's beautiful, rare, iconic and will go up in value quicker than your house... if you can afford to spend 100 grand on it then why not, it's not like you'll lose money and even better, you'll get to enjoy it on a sunny Sunday afternoon makes perfect sense to me.

Well, the two property's i sunk my cash into both turned out to be money pits, so let's say i'd have been wealthier now had i put £300k into a dozen 22B's instead of buying another house (although the resulting divorce would have been quite expensive )!!

I sold mine (which i bought in 2005) 6 years ago for £27k, which was a good price at the time. It was sold again by a dealer around 18 months ago for just shy of £50k, but I dare say it would fetch a fair bit more in the current market...

No, the one Mark had was previously owned by a guy in Blackpool (i know this because i supplied him a replacement badge for it 7 years ago, when his original one was nicked off the bootlid )

The one for sale went over to Ireland a couple of weeks after i looked at it, along with Nicky Grists 000 plate 22B, and has been over there since then afaik

Plenty on here willing to pay £100k (that they don't have) for an Impreza. What are similar type Rs fetching these days?

The first line of the ad says '1 of 16 uk cars made' and the last line reads 'this is an imported vehicle'. What am i missing? Is it a uk car or is it not? Genuine question, im not being sarcastic.

Isnt that the same with any model? So if you were insuring it for arguments sake, would it be a uk car or an import?

No, it's a UK car. The same as a blob STI Type UK for instance.

It's for sale in Northern Ireland, so technically it's an import there. Possibly why there aren't any number plates on it.
