Back on the road after being in storage for 11 years
Took it off the road in 2006 as I got an X5 as it suited family life better, kids, dogs, etc.
Stuck the Impreza in my heated garage and it only came out onto the drive every few months to give the engine a bit of a run. Had a few bits and pieces fitted while tucked away, but now back on the road, and MOT'd with no advisories - 1997 car (V3) with 56k miles and I've had it since 1999.
Took a bit of getting used to after driving quick comfortable cars for the last 11 years instead, think I'm back in the groove now though
Nice to see prices of the classics starting to rise.

Thanks for the comments, over the years I often wondered if it was special enough to tuck away and not use, but now it's on the road again I'm glad I did. Yes it's a V3 STi, imported new into the U.K. by one of the managers of the RAC, and apparently SVA'd or prepared for SVA by Prodrive.
Standard engine except for K&N, 3" downpipe, decat and scoobysport rear box, but just before i took it off the road in 2006 it managed a very respectable 326 bhp on the rolling road on Vpower and a bottle of octane booster.

Wow 326bhp standard. That is impressive, i wouldn't touch it. Standard ones will go up in price like a rocket. Just keep it garaged and drive it as a weekend summer car and sit back and smile as the price goes up.

Thats a very nice looking car you have there! Enjoy it!
Pffffft, yeah just let it sit in a garage whilst you get old and your back crumbles. Dont enjoy it, just look at it.

Ha ha, you know im just messing.
I honestly think its a waste to keep it and not enjoy it tho. I can understand looking after something you cherish, mine is my pride and joy. But think you can go too far and devote more energy to just preserving something than actually getting any enjoyment out of it. Unfortunately these cars have a life expectancy and its not too long, enjoy them while you can!
