Default S202

Hi all. I'm thinking about going to look at a local s202 which is for sale and looking for some advice. It's this one

http://braveauto.co.uk/cars/subaru-s202/

I'm not too clued up on them but I think the seats are incorrect and should be black, is that right? I think from looking at other s202 pics the exhaust and spoiler look to be correct, can anyone confirm? I guess there's no point getting an s202 if it's missing the unique parts

Are they? They look kind of light to me, compared
to this for example

Maybe they're faded?

Been for sale for a very long time that one, I've seen numerous more expensive ones come and go from other traders while this one just seems to sit there not shifting.

Seats should be black, it's a good price imo if it's a good unmessed with, original.example. pm 53 on here, fountain of s202 knowledge.

Seats are black, its just the flash of the camera, brake discs are grooved and she has the rays alloys and spoiler.Exhaust should be a titanium backbox, check for accident damage but if she works out ok then she could be a good one to go for, just get her checked out.

Cheers chaps, I've messaged 53 aswell. Is there a way to tell the exhaust is the correct titanium one...short of removing and and feeling the jdm lightness?

Also, has anyone on here ever tracked a standard ish S202, are they up to the job? I know it's a rare car but I would still be tracking it a few times a year as I like to drive my cars properly. I'm coming from a pretty decent spec Evo (don't hate me) so wouldn't want it to feel like a big step down in terms of handling/track performance?

cheers

The back box on the pictures looks legit. It should have STI embossed on the left hand side of the tip. And you can see the titanium looks different than a steel exhaust.

Unfortunately I've never had the pleasure to drive one but seen good reviews.

Tom has had that car for sale for a while & I believe he still has it.
The exhaust & seats are correct, as are the wheels etc.
The gearknob is missing & last time I drove it it had a GC8 STi gearknob I loaned him
He had the rear spoiler painted last year & some other bits painted too.
You can see some pics from last year here: http://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum/...-get-it.25099/

Thanks for that. Strange how it's been forsale so long, price looks reasonable and they're very highly regarded?

Not had chance yet, but I will!

They are very much track ready

If you can get hold of a copy I put mine head to head with a heavily modified EVO 7 in Modern Classics Magazine.

Yeah I saw that buddy, yours seems heavily modified though. I wouldn't want to modify it much, would chucking some track pads and tyres on an s202 make for a competent track car? I got carried away with my evo and it just became a money pit, I'm just looking for something to enjoy out of the box . I also hate under steer and have read the s202 is a very neutral car, hence my interest!
