Default Forged engine service intervals

How often do you service a forged sti?
What is the best oil to use ?
Does the cam belt need replacing more often?
I was thinking get it serviced every 10k to keep the service history up then change oil and filter myself every 5k.
Thanks

Forged or not it's still just an engine, cam belt wouldn't need replacing more often than standard, however, you'll get lots of advice regarding the oil, my best advice would be to contact the original engine builder or one of the builders on here.

Forged engines normally require more oil top ups and more regular oil changes than standard engines. Some say every 3k or 5k miles compared to normal 10k.

My forged engine actually uses very little oil despite the pistons slapping away when cold. Probably a 10k oil change would be fine. On the other hand why risk an expensive engine for the sake of a few quid in oil and a filter? So Millers 20W50 every 5k for me, just in case!

i wouldn't say extra changes, i wouldn't leave even a standard car more than 5k between oil changes.

Apart from the mineral oil used for running in, my forged 2.5 uses Millers CFS 10w 60
Brilliant oil. Changed every 6/7k miles I guess. I don't give my engine half the life I should...I'm gettin' too old lol

Now, my forged build did (and before forging) use what I saw as a bit too much oil.
However, PCV valve blocked / bypassed and a nice Mocal catch can has sorted the consumption and cold startup smoke overnight.

Forged build has done about 18k miles now. Also, interestingly, the catch can doesn't catch anything, I guess if it did catch loads of oil I'd have a problem.

It vents to atmosphere through the cap - fits perfectly where my secondary air pump was before it got deleted.

Uses literally a slug of oil (if that) over 3k miles now.

I was getting a good puff of smoke on cold startup - I mean a good puff, now nothing. Now no oil gets into the breather system, no oil runs into the inlets overnight anymore from the TMIC.

Before people start worrying about oil consumption....knackered rings...ringlands...smoke on cold start up etc, maybe get the PCV valve replaced, will be a cheap option that may solve the issue. I found out by getting a catch can fitted....but it looks good!
Equally, will indicate any problems should any arise as there is a sight tube down one side.

I was running 15-50 in the hatch and the same in the bug that I have now. I stick to oil changes every 5k.

In my Evo I had 15-50 but the last service 10-60 was used by the garage. That gets done every 3k with gearbox, diff, transfer box etc.

I do it every 3/7k dependant on usage, lot's of short trips in traffic etc then it gets it around 3k... if there's plenty of motorway where the oil has been hot enough for long periods to burn off any fuel that's found it's way in there then it's fine to leave it a bit longer.... after all that's why I buy good quality expensive oil... for my daily I buy cheap stuff and change it more often @ £25 for 10L and £7 a filter... a 15min job every 3 months isn't really a problem.
