Specs of WRX STI Type UK (2016)
I am looking to perhaps get back into the Subaru fold and have seen an advert for a 2016 WRX STI Type UK. I can find all the technical specs, but not what 'extras' it comes with.
I'm old, so would quite like parking sensors or a camera. Subarus were always somewhat sparse inside and I wondered if that has changed?
Thanks for any information.
Steve

The outgoing 1.6 Impreza and the new model 1.6 and 2 ltr Impreza have those items as standard but I did not notice them the the last time I drove a modern STI. The Levorg has that functionality.

In the UK, the STI got very few "extras" to choose from.
Only extra I got with my MY17 was a wifi hotspot which I've used a handful of times.
If you have a current platform STI with the touchscreen they do have the ability to run the rear view camera (it's in the hidden menus) but the cars aren't fitted with a rear view - I'm not sure if even the Final Editions have the rear view. They don't have the Recaros from the US 2018STI
The stereo in the STIs - either the old button one of the newer touch screen are a bit pants. I have the touch screen and the mirrorlink doesn't work and the bluetooth is ropey
It's one of the few things let the car down compared to it's contemporaries.

Pretty sure I had a go at this not long after I bought the car.
Found the update file, got into the HU hidden menus, but when it gets to connect via USB, the UK cars don't react the same as the US cars.
I've tried the USB in the dash and it didn't work and IIRC mine either doesn't have the USBs in the arm rest or the HU didn't respond when I put the USB drive in.
Asked my local dealer and they didn't really know what I was talking about.
I did find however the UK cars have rear camera software on the HU. Just no camera.

The best person to ask would be Rob Ostle (rob84 on here) as he has owned both a MY15 and a MY16 before moving on. He also works at Stan Palmers Subaru Dealership so can probably advise on any UK firmware updates.
