I would spend the extra and go for KYB AGX shocks as theyre adjustable dampers. Will end up costing more when you factor top mounts/springs but worth the extra imo

AGX don't fit widetrack.

OP, if you visit the Suspension subforum is there are active threads on the Pedders product.

That's interesting. I went on the Pedders Website and they say their suspension will lower the WRX by 30mm but make little difference to an Sti. I've probably got it wrong again though.

Have a look at this thread

Siv

Thanks, just had a look and the cars look a lot lower than the standard Sti. So is the Pedders site inaccurate re ride height?

Would be nice to have more feedback on these though as I’m pretty much sold on them.

Siv

I'll contact Pedders for clarification as I like the lower look of the car but not the harshness of the coilovers fitted at the moment.

I contacted Pedders and got a good response on their webchat. My car currently measures 59mm wheel rim to wheel arch on coilovers. With the Pedders fitted this measurement would be about 72mm. I don't know how this compares to a standard Sti.

STI blob/hawk wheel centre up to the metal arch (not the plastic liner) are 385mm front & 365mm rear: assuming the static gas pressure in the struts is still as new. An empty to full tank makes an 8mm rear difference.

IMO, I wouldn't run lower than 360mm on a strut front, and only then, after putting some serious thought into the length and durometer of the bump stops. I also think the stock widetrack STI rear ride height is fine.

The OP is after the kit for the widetrack STi models 05-07
You are looking for the kit for a bug so different.

Thanks for the link. Those cars all look low enough to me, makes me wonder why Pedders say they only slightly lower an Sti? I need to ditch the BCs as their harshness is spoiling the car. That and a very loud 3" H & S exhaust which will be coming off soon too, but that's another story.

According to Pedders, their widetrack STI kit lowers approx 20mm. It looks lower than that in their accompanying picture.

Thanks for the feedback guys, think I’m sold on these. I’ve read and heard good feedback on these. Don’t mind slightly lowering the car, but don’t won’t the harshness of coilovers.

Just bear in mind the Pedders setup will be softer than the original STI suspension you're replacing.

It all depends what you want from your suspension setup. If it's a great ride with long lasting UK supplied shocks, then Pedders all the way. If you're after something more sporty and that will actually be an improvement over the original setup then personally I'd look at an alternative.

I went for MeisterR Zeta CRD+ coilovers and am over the moon with the results.

Are we talking rub on wheel arch or spring carrier - were you fitting wheels with suitable ET ??

Interestingly, the image accompanying the STI widetrack struts, shows rear bug-style springs and rear bug-style top mounts.
Probably a generic pic?

Surely they wouldn't lower the ride height and fail to increase the spring rate? Maybe they're running trick bump stops?
