Default Advice on 2003 Subaru wrx sti jdm modifying please

Hi,

I’m wondering if anyone can help me and give me advice when it comes to what mods I actually need to achieve a stage 4 on my car.

This is what it says to achieve level 4 on Andy Forrest performance website.

Level 4 390-420 bhp
Full Decat turbo back 3” bore exhaust system
Custom flanged up/down pipes
Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump
K+N panel filter
Ecutek custom remap
NGK PFR 7B uprated spark plugs
3 Port boost control solenoid
Fuel Lab turbo specification fuel pressure regulator with fitting kit & gauge
Twin Port 650cc Injectors
Custom cold air induction
Custom version AFP 321H turbocharger to suit twin scroll headers

How important is it to fit the fuel pressure regulator and do I need to ? Also do I have to get the custom flanged up and down pipes ? Or will a 3” system from the turbo to back box be sufficient enough ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Why not take the advice from Andy Forrest?
He knows more than 99.9999% of those on SN.

Well you wont be needing a K&N filter and a CAIK that's for sure, and if your car isn't running 7B's as standard then your mechanic needs slapping

The website seems a little out of date, I would call them and see what suits your needs, ecu remap, exhaust, fuel pump etc.

I don't think I had a bigger regulator on mine as I seem to remember the TwinScroll ones being up to the job.
The 650's are definitely required and the original clutch coped with 416ib of torque, but if yours is worn it might be worth upgrading.

Thanks for all the replies, I’m just trying to get the best advice from people who have modded their cars and see what setup they have and what bhp their car is running at etc to get a rough idea of where I need to be. I can’t help but feel like I would be stupid for not taking the advice on Andy Forrest website as he clearly knows what he’s talking about. I guess more research will need to be done.

I would suggest dropping Andy an email with any questions you may have,he will steer you in the right direction. Very nice helpful fella.
I recently had mapping work done by AFP and achieved 371bhp/387lb/ft with standard vf48,fully forged 2.5 bottom end, decatted, caik, air pump delete,rcm340 fuel pump,Standard injectors on standard top mount.

Cheers Stuart, I’ve already sent an email off to him but guessing he will be closed until the new year so just awaiting a reply. I already bought an sc42 billet turbo twin scroll and 650cc injectors so just need to get the rest of my mods and see what performance I can achieve from a fresh map.
