Smile Does anyone know This Fozzie STi?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know this Fozzie STi?

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...01801152782062

There is an mot advisory on it for ‘waxoiled underside’ which I’ve not come across before.

Apparently it’s been looked after and mapped by slowboy racing.

My biggest concern is the HG, what are the tell tales and where do I look?

Thanks

Chris

Looks like a good example. I've never heard of an mot advisory for waxoil! But it's a good sign it's been done.
For HG issues look for overheating, poor idle, sludge in coolant or in oil. It may be worth getting slow boy racing to check it over.

Thanks mate.

How long would the car need to be run before the overheating started?

I wouldn't have thought a trader would try to sell you a car with obvious signs of HG failure.
Problem is it can go at any time. I'd be interested in a Hawk of Forester STI but the 2.5 engine does worry me a bit.

The impression I get is that the guy is selling this privately (although the ad is misleading).

For Some reason the JDM 2.5’s don’t have as many head gasket problems as the uk cars

My old one was on 98k without any problems running 370/400

It says trade seller on Autotrader, maybe he's trying to avoid giving a warranty?

Do they have different maps? That might explain why they don't pop quite so often.

The Genome exhaust is a nice touch and worth a few quid extra over the standard box

Kaiser and Keinda tyres in a high performance car?

That says it all about its previous owner!

Kaiser makes beers :P

I know, I’m trying to buy one! Only reason I looked at the white one was because I thought the one I wanted on here was about to be sold.

The JDM is EJ255.
The UK is EJ257.
But the JDM cars do have issues but not as many.
I had a JDM Fozzy and it was Epic.
