Default Fitting lower h brace to gc8 sti v3

hi guys

I asked my local mechanic (general mechanic) to fit a lower h brace to my sti v3. After trying to fit it he said that the front wishbone nuts were not long enough to get decent thread on the bolt and was therefore dangerous.
He advised I buy longer bolts for the front lower arms so the h brace can be fitted safely.

This suprised me but wanted to hear from you guys whether or not this can occur and if I can but extended bolts.

Thabk you

Remove bolt, measure and add the thickness of the brace,
Buy new bolts the correct length, should be spot on then.

I'm pretty sure you can use existing bolts, there is a certain order to fit this brace and are a **** to do.
Can't for the life of me remember, sure there is a thread on here somewhere, maybe even a youtube?

Unless someone's changed the bolts it'll fit straight on.
