Default 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX change of alternator

Hi ladies and gents,

I had to get a new alternator and now
my engine light is on, the new alternator is working fun but the ECU still thinks the faults is with the old. How do I get the engine light off ?

thanks

Buy a genuine alternator,
I guess from the fault that you got it from a local motor factors?

Yourr right it’s a Bosch one. Did not have time, needed the car back ASAP for work. Is there any way to circumnavigate it, there is a thread on another site that states you can but joining wires at the fuse box
